Beloved

By Ahmad Isah Sabo

Beloved, I will inscribe your name
With ink of diluted moonlight
On the slate of diamond.
I will dot letter(s) in your name
With most glittering star.

Beloved, I will inscribe your name
With ink of diluted rainbow
On every speck of clouds,
On every motif on feathers
Of most embellished pheasant.

Beloved, I will inscribe your name
With ink of perfume made of
Nectar and pomegranate
On every tender skin
Of most ardent petals.

Beloved, I will inscribe your name
With scented kohl of gazelle
Using ostrich’s feather
On every space of moon and sun,
On every wave of desert and ocean
