Open 2021 Poems - Ramesh Dohan
Postcards from the heart
By Ramesh Dohan
Sandalwood beckons stories
in much the same way oceans
beckon rush
Each morning in the city
a ravenous invitation for longing
to wallow in the warm embers of tea
being instigated in kettle,
Hunger rises
alongside the rhythmic scent
of freshly baked bread
a morning rich with the invite
Thus, the symphony unfurls
in so many old cafés
this childhood caress of a city
