Varsha (Monsoon) 2021 Poems - Uriah Howard Allis

We are the blur in a photograph
By Uriah Howard Allis

love is found
between the bounds
of backgrounds and stages,
behind tattered curtains
guarding quiet spaces;

tucked into forgotten corners
of faraway places,
here
is one moment
and
here
are we;

the instant
our backs turn
to bedroom mirrors
and you find the switch
rapturing light
into darkness,
you reveal the
us
hidden by
everyday faces

Uriah Howard Allis from rural Western New York, has found pieces of his heart, mind, and soul escaping to the blank page ever since he could hold a pencil. When he officially reached his “twenties,” he began to gladly slip into rhyme and meter, and whatever lies beyond.
