Far Out

They’re wading out
deeper and deeper
filling their pockets
emptying their souls,
the leaders and followers,
the marksmen and lenders
deeper and deeper
bottom feeders,
noses deep
in the lucred slime.

 

But as the blood flows
the water will rise
and their Midas touch
won’t help them.
Gold is heavy
stuff.
Soon it will no longer
float their boat

 

Time To Choose

It seemed appropriate,
a profile for my profile
but which way should I face,
which side is best
right
left,
right..
It’s time to choose.
I chose left
and now it’s clear
which side I’m on
and I shall wait
for new friends
to join me
new shoots to emerge
ready to fly
as freedom
flowers.
