Open 2024 Poems - A.H. Thomas

Tricky intermission
By A.H. Thomas

I blew smoke into the insects
did not care for their papery wings
Just lit my cigarette
And blew straight
into
t h E. M

Funny thing about life
There’s always an intermission

THE p o. N d IS dry.
dry.
Two inches for 200 fish.
what now?

life is a fresco of
Thoughts and prayers
Warm chromas red
orange
brown
chromatic greys.
impressionist lost his mind a long time ago

Someone needs to take his brush away
How come we admire doves but
abandon pigeons?

you see¿ Y. O. U se. E
Tiny tots glued to tv screens
rot(ting)
rott(in)
rot.

Who wants to write about a two inch pond
when it is two inches?
Who. Wants to read a poem when they are

rotting
