Shishir 2024 Poems - Mary Bone

Indian Summer
By Mary Bone

The summer crowd
gathered around
waiting for a cool breeze.
Children play in a local pool
splashing and laughing,
awaiting ice cream from
a local vendor.

Indian Paint Brush Flowers

Indian Paint Brush flowers
wave hello
from the side of the road.
Vibrant colors, orange and red,
flourish in the sweltering heat.
