A Midnight Dream, My Muse!

By Ujjal Mandal

A midnight dream compels me
To rise up from an idle bed, shows
Me the unfulfilled dreams that have been
Left when the sun died at an early age, and
Leads me to sleep again on the dreamy bed to
Catch up the lost dreams till the light of the morning.
And I get on the dreamy boat through
The dreamy waves, believing on
a midnight dream, my muse!
This dream haunts me like the inflammation
Of unseen hunger, and I jump over the food
As a ferocious lion.
